Karthik's POV

The nervousness was long gone, replaced by a burning rage. Seeing the scene in front of my eyes, my blood boiled, and my hands clenched into fists. My girlfriend, Naina, was cuddling Rajveer, my biggest enemy. They were so engrossed in their make-out session that they failed to notice my presence.

The bouquet in my hand fell to the ground, making a sound that finally drew their attention. They gaped at me, Naina's mouth agape, and Rajveer's face twisted into a smirk, mocking me.

Rajveer Ahuja, my biggest rival. We've always had a cold rivalry since college days. He was the rich, spoiled brat, infamous for his bullying and countless affairs. That's one of the reasons we never got along. He was always jealous of my popularity and would find ways to pick a fight with me. Nothing has changed between us; we are still enemies.

And Naina knew it. Yet, she did this. Why?

The sight of Naina in his arms sent a wave of disbelief washing over me. I had always known she was manipulative, but I never imagined she would stoop so low. I had been played, used, and discarded like trash.

Author's POV

"Why?" Karthik's voice was deadly cold.

"I asked why!" he repeated, louder this time, grabbing a flower pot from the shelf and smashing it to the floor. Naina flinched, taken aback by the sudden outburst.

"She didn't cheat on you, technically," Rajveer interjected. "She never loved you to begin with."

"What do you mean?" Karthik demanded.

"She was with you for me. She always loved me. She stayed close to you because I asked her to," Rajveer explained with a smirk. "All this time, it was me she loved. You were just a game."

Karthik turned to Naina, his eyes searching hers. "Is this true?"

Naina, now composed, replied, "Yes, it is. You weren't supposed to find out this soon. But since you know, let me tell you. You were just a toy for us. We wanted to play more, but now you already know the truth.So no hide and seek now."

"You know why I agreed to your stupid no-love relationship? Because I loved my Rajveer baby so much that I would do anything for him," Naina added with an evil laugh.

"Why? Why did you need to do this?" Karthik asked, his voice breaking.

"For your company and your ruin. She was supposed to gain your trust and learn all your company secrets so we could take all your deals and destroy your company," Rajveer said.

"And after that, I would come back to my love," Naina said, kissing Rajveer.

Karthik's fists clenched in anger.

Karthik's POV

I felt disgusted at the thought of marrying someone like Naina. My parents had been right about her and her family. How could someone stoop so low, driven by jealousy to destroy another person? I felt betrayed. I had respected and trusted her, maybe not as a lover, but as a friend. But she had only been a spy for her so-called boyfriend.

I had made a fool of myself and my feelings.

Today, I learned two things: never to trust anyone and to think only about my own profit.
